“Over the past session, we’ve proven that we can work together, deliver real results, and move Wisconsin forward,” said Rep. Franklin. “I’m running for re-election to continue building on that momentum and to keep fighting for the people of Northeast Wisconsin.”
Proven Bipartisan Results - During the most recent legislative session, Ben successfully passed 10 bipartisan bills, all signed into law by the governor—demonstrating a clear ability to collaborate across the aisle and deliver meaningful outcomes for Wisconsin families. Veterans and Military - Ben had four key bills signed into law that support veterans and service members. 2 new bills were created for homeless veterans and those utilizing any services through the VHRP program. Now, there is a state matching grant for non-profit organizations who help provide these critical services. Veterans can now receive care where they are at in the state. This was previously impossible as these veterans were required to go to one of three facilities throughout the state, often lacking the resources to get there, and therefore unable to receive much needed care. Additional bills focused on ensuring tax fairness and veteran status opportunity for members of the Guard and Reserve. These efforts continue his strong advocacy for those who serve, building on his military background and commitment to Wisconsin’s veteran community. Protecting Children and Strengthening Families - Ben also played a leading role in advancing legislation to protect children, including a critical audiovisual protections bill signed into law to better safeguard minors. This bill was much needed for our youth and was drafted in collaboration with our local District Attorney as well as our local Child Advocacy Center. His work was further strengthened through his role on the Speaker’s Task Force on Protecting Kids, where he collaborated with stakeholders across the state to develop meaningful, lasting policy solutions. In addition, he has been deeply engaged in advancing mental health initiatives, working to expand access to care and improve outcomes for individuals and families across Wisconsin.

Economic Growth and Innovation Leadership - A major legislative achievement this session includes the passage of Wisconsin’s nuclear fusion legislation, positioning the state as a national and global leader in emerging energy technologies. This forward-looking policy is expected to bring high-paying jobs to Wisconsin and establish the state as a hub for cutting-edge innovation and development.
“This is about putting Wisconsin on the map globally,” Franklin said. “We’re creating opportunities for the next generation and building an economy that attracts top talent and investment.” Public Safety and Corrections Reform - Ben has also been actively engaged in addressing challenges within the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, including ongoing work related to Green Bay Correctional Institution. While a final agreement has not yet been reached, Franklin emphasized that meaningful progress has been made, bringing stakeholders closer than ever to a long-term solution that improves safety, conditions, and operational effectiveness.
