ABOUT BENBen Franklin was born and raised in Keokuk, IA. He enjoyed participating in athletics and volunteering in the community. Shortly after graduating from Keokuk High School, he continued volunteering in the community. He served in various capacities in Relay for Life, Bowl for Kids Sake, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boy Scouts of America, Church, and played in the community band “McNamara’s Band”.
Ben’s yearning for service continued after he married his wife Sharon. With her unwavering support, much of their marriage was spent in the United States Air Force. During this time, Ben progressed quickly through the ranks. With service as a staple, Ben served thousands of hours in organizations and events outside of duty hours, earning him the Military Outstanding Voluntary Service Medal. He also sharpened his leadership skills during his time in the Air Force and completed his Bachelor’s Degree from Trident University. Earning the degree was a proud moment for Ben as he was working full-time, attending school full-time, and had a family to help raise. |
Ben currently lives in De Pere, WI with his wife and two kids. He is an Owner/Operator of a business that employs roughly 200 employees throughout multiple locations in Wisconsin. He is currently building a new store in Manitowoc, WI with the potential for more growth in the future. As such, providing economic stability is important to Ben and he understands a strong economy fosters a strong community. He also teaches/facilitates an online Nation-wide leadership course for multi-unit managers in the restaurant business. Developing future leaders is critical to our future strength.
Ben’s passion for service before self, and helping his community, has led him to run for the State Legislature. There, his experiences from his youth, military service, and business leadership will greatly benefit the people of the 88th Assembly District as we move forward into a strong future.
As Ben hits the campaign trail, he looks forward to meeting with the best people in Wisconsin. Just like running a successful business, he is willing to address concerns head on, and find solutions that work for everyone. Your support is greatly appreciated!
